The Operator

You act while other people are still framing the question. You read a room fast and accurately, you are comfortable with risk that would keep others awake, and you are at your best when something is actually happening — a negotiation, a crisis, a deal that has to close today. You are also more persuasive than you let on, because you pay attention to what people actually respond to rather than what they say they want.

The problem is that the same instinct that makes you good in the moment makes you poor at the slow parts. You commit before the consequences are visible and then deal with them by moving faster, which works until it does not. Boredom is a real risk for you, and you will sometimes create urgency where none existed just to feel engaged again — which is exhausting for everyone standing next to you. The version of you that lasts is the one who learned to stay through the boring middle of something worth finishing.
