You are the least anxious person most people know. You like company, you are welcoming to strangers, you hold no grudges worth mentioning, and you are entirely unwilling to be hurried by anybody. Whatever the urgency is, you have looked at it and concluded it can wait, and you are right more often than the people rushing past you would like to admit. Being around you lowers everyone's heart rate, which is a genuine and underrated contribution.

The problem is that immovable is not the same as principled, and you use the same posture for both. Some of the things you are declining to be hurried about actually needed doing, and the decision to let them slide was not a decision at all — it was the absence of one. Because you are so pleasant about it, nobody pushes, so you get very little external correction. Almost everything you regret will be something you did not do, and it will have felt exactly like all the times not doing it was correct.
