Questions people ask

What does "match" mean here?

The company you tend to enjoy, not a dating verdict. The 20 questions work out your own four letters, then the result ranks which types usually sit well with you across five settings — love, living together, travel, work and friendship — with a percentage beside each. A low number means a difference in rhythm, not a warning.

Do I need to know my type first?

There is no need to. The questions read your four letters from the way you answer, the same way a type test does, and the matches are built from there. If you already know your type, the 4 minutes still buy you the ranking, and you get to see whether the same letters come back.

Is this the official MBTI test?

No, and it is not an MBTI® assessment of any kind. The official instrument belongs to The Myers-Briggs Company and is delivered through certified practitioners; compatibility rankings are not part of what it reports. This is an independent questionnaire, free to take, that borrows the four preference pairs and uses your answers to describe who tends to get on with whom.

How much weight should the percentages carry?

Not much on their own. They come from how two sets of preferences line up on paper, not from anything about the actual person — shared history, timing and plain effort matter more than the eight letters between you. Read a high number as this usually goes easily, and a low one as this usually needs more talking.
