The Spark

You see the potential in things and in people, immediately and vividly, and you are very good at making other people see it too. You collect interests the way other people collect possessions, you make friends across every part of your life, and you have a genuine gift for turning a dull hour into something worth remembering. When you are properly engaged with something you are one of the most productive types there is.

The difficulty is that engagement is the fuel and it is not under your control. A project stops being interesting somewhere in its middle, and the guilt about the abandoned thing takes more energy than finishing it would have. You also feel every social temperature change in a way you rarely admit, so an unexplained short reply from someone can occupy an entire afternoon. The ENFPs who build something lasting are not the ones who became disciplined; they are the ones who arranged deadlines and other people around them so that the middle of a project has someone else in it.
